Big Squeeze

A Platen That Skews

Not all books are parallel front to back.  The Big Squeeze can accommodate a significantly wedged book.  Removable guide pins allow the platen to swing free from the side supports to permit  a variation of up to two inches from the front of the platens to the back of the platens.

In normal use the guide pins maintain the platens roughly parallel to each other and allow for smooth control of the platen as it is eased up or down.  Removing the guide pins allows the platens to vary from parallel for those few times when parallel platens are simply not adequate. With the skew movement, however, comes some rotational play.  This requires the platens to be manually aligned when the guide pins are removed.

The removed  guide pins self-store at the top of the platen guide track.
